Meat substitutes are rising in popularity. Consumers are looking for more alternatives to meat and fish. Consequently, meat producers such as ME-AT (owned by Vion Food Group) are responding to this trend. ME-AT is producing a large variety of meat and fish subsitutes that look and taste just like the original fresh product.
With the newly developed vegan salmon burger, ME-AT wanted to clearly position its product as a fish substitute. At the same time, it was important that the product is truly distinctive.
We have developed a shape concept to make it clear to the consumer at a glance that this product is an alternative to fish. In this concept, the scales from the fish skin are incorporated into the texture of the burger. This texture is applied to the burger by means of a hamburger roller specially developed by us, which was produced and delivered within 1 week.
